Maggie Baugh, Out Midnight Muddin
Roll down your windows, crank up the stereo, put the pedal to the metal and let’s do a little, Midnight Muddin! That is just what Maggie is doing in her brand new video, Midnight Muddin. In her new video there are AVTs and monster trucks tearing up a mud hole with everyone having a good ole time. And Maggie right in the middle of it jamming her new song, getting down and dirty.
Midnight Muddin is off Maggie’s new CD, Heck Of A Story. Her new CD has eight incredible songs and Midnight Muddin is riding high as a favorite. Midnight Muddin was inspired after Maggie’s experience mudding for the first time. Her first time out was after performing at the Devils Garden Mud Club. After performing she got to sing at a campfire for the people who worked at Sawgrass Ford and their family. Afterwards they took Maggie mudding in their giant monster truck that had won the truck pull the same day. “We went mudding at midnight. So about a week later I wrote, Midnight Muddin with my friend Keith Ridenour” says Maggie.
In the video Midnight Muddin, you find Maggie in a white dress, but it isn’t white for very long. The video was sponsored by Sawgrass Ford. Sawgrass brought out their monster truck along with ATVs, and Maggie invited all her friends to go mudding. During the shoot Maggie even got to drive an ATV a couple of times. The video and song are what you would see Toby Keith or Reba McEntire doing, but Maggie beat them to it. This video deserves a spot on CMT.
Heck Of A Story is a CD that everyone should have in their collection. The title song, Heck Of A Story is a little tamer for Maggie allowing everyone to feel the softer, tender side of Maggie. “Heck Of A Story was supposed to be about losing someone you loved, but then we switched it to be a happy song” says Maggie. The soft side of Maggie shows through very well, her voice touching you inside. This song is about wanting to spending time with that special someone instead of spending money and going to fancy places. This CD lets the listener feel and hear the different dimensions of Maggie Baugh. To get your copy of Heck Of A Story, just follow this link: Maggiebaugh.com. The song Heck Of A Story is one that Maggie says hits home to her. “There is something about the song and the groove of it that makes me wanna snap my fingers and sway my head to the beat” says Maggie.
There has been a great deal of excitement in the studio and on stage for Maggie. In the studio was her new CD and on stage her performing side by side some pretty big names in music. One of these big names it none other than, Charlie Daniels. With Charlie being well-known for his fiddle playing and Maggie asked to pull hers out everywhere she goes, made for an unforgettable show for the audience, and Maggie. She was at Charlie’s show to open with the National Anthem on fiddle for his free concert he did in Weston Florida. She had a meet and greet before the concert and since she takes her fiddle everywhere, she had it with her for this as well. “I was about two feet away from Mr. Daniels and I asked him if I could play him a song. I gave him the choice of having me play one of his songs or mine, he picked one of his. I played the opening lick to Devil Went Down To Georgia, he just smiled and clapped” says Maggie. Just before Charlie’s last song of the night Maggie was asked if she would like to play on stage with Charlie. Charlie met her backstage and asked if she knew the whole song, but Maggie only knew about half. He told her just to follow his fingers. She did and had the time of her life, playing on stage with Charlie Daniels.
Another major player Maggie has enjoyed being on stage with is, Neal McCoy. Maggie says Neal and his family are amazing. She has opened and performed on stage with him twice so far.
Maggie says the coolest show was on the cruise. She says it was a lot of fun to be on a boat with all your friends, family and fans. This year Maggie is an artist on the cruise.
Heck Of A Story
The cruise will be coming up soon, but prior to that Maggie is nominated for an award at the Florida OBCMA event on Tuesday October 20th. “I get to play my favorite fiddle song, Orange Blossom Special, to the Orange Blossom Country Music Association. How cool is that!” says Maggie. These will be great places to catch Maggie live, but if you cannot make it to one of these events, here are three more that might fit your schedule. On November 1st will be Maggies physical CD release party held at Sawgrass Ford. On November 8th she will be at Joe Dimagio Children’s hospital fundraiser, then November 13th Maggie will be opening for Chase Bryant at Jensen Beach Pineapple Festival.
An artist is a person that shows or has creativity. Maggie has shown this from the beginning and continues to work at and grow her artistry in different directions. Vocally she has matured nicely, gaining good dynamics and a seasoned sound. The songs that Maggie is writing now are in the same category as the majors. Back When she first released Tennessee Dream, the song showed what was to come. Now Maggie has reached the level to where, what she is writing belongs on the Opry and CMT, like Midnight Muddin and many others on her CD. Maggie has now grown her act to include, ganjo, guitar, fiddle, and the mandolin.
During Maggie’s growth as an artist it has not been only the fans seeing what was brewing. Maggie now has an impressive sponsorship growing, they have seen who she is as an artist and proud to be part of her journey. Maggie’s current sponsorship includes: Sawgrass Ford, Durango Boots, Taylor Guitars, Monster Cables, Westone in Ears, Deering Banjos, Kyser Musical Products, Fishman, Ammunition Depot, and Boot Bling Etc.
The title of her CD is a perfect fit because Maggie does have a, Heck Of A Story. Maggie’s story continues to grow everyday, and not long from now, she will look back and say, that was a one heck of a ride. This will occur the day when she pulls back the stage curtain for a quick peek, and sees that arena filled to the top with people there just to see her. It is coming!
