Introducing ten year old, Claire Holdren an opera/classical singer from Ohio. When Claire starts to sing, it’s like the heavens opened up and you suddenly hear the voice of an angel. Her voice is clear and beautiful. The beauty that she extends to others through her voice, is like the morning sun unveiling the wonders of the earth around you, and warming your soul. Music has the power to brighten one’s day and Claire does just that. Claire often talks about how music will change her mood. But the miracle is, she touches others and brings them into the light.

She was about five years old when she began to take interest in singing, but her parents says she sang before she could talk. Even though she was singing, no one thought much of it until Claire got a little older and people started pointing out her special voice. When she started to sing solo, she was naturally scared. Her first solo was at a recital at school in the 2nd grade.

Claire now has about fifteen solos and the compliments from the people in the audiences, are grand. “People say that they cannot believe I am only ten years old. They also say that my voice makes them cry because it touches them” says Claire.  Whenever she begins to sing, it’s such a surprise to everyone that such a magnificent voice is coming from a ten year old, it’s truly hard to believe.

At a recent performance she sang, Poor Wandering One from Pirates of Penzance at her spring recital. This has become a favorite for her. “I loved it because it’s an opera piece with high notes, which I love, but it’s also silly” says Claire. It was much fun for her to work with a big opera song like Poor Wandering One.

Many young people often enter into singing competitions and Claire is no different. To date she has only entered one, but needless to say she did win first place in her age group. From this win Claire was interviewed and got to perform on a local TV show.

When it comes to singing, it’s clear that classic/opera is what fits her, but she sometimes sings pop, but just around the house. Claire loves singing opera, she says its fun to sing, and she loves the high notes. She is not just someone out singing songs, singing is who she is, music is part of her being and serves a purpose. “I can relate to songs. It can change my mood, and it just makes me happy. It’s also cool when people say that my singing touches them” says Claire. As long as Claire is singing somewhere, she is happy and enjoys listening to the words coming from her.

Theater plays a part in what she so enjoys; singing. She has now been in eight plays at several community theaters. Claire loves doing theater that involves singing. Her dream is to be on Broadway. She would like to go to college where she can specialize in musical theater.

Claire has a few exciting things coming up and if you are close by, stop and listen to her sing. She has a solo at her church coming up, also this summer she will be singing the National Anthem at the Akron Rubber Ducks game. In September Claire will have a fifteen minute solo performance at Canton’s First Friday.

While singing is a huge part of Claire’s life, there’s still much more to her. A few other things she enjoys doing are; she loves playing with her dog, hangout with friends, swimming, reading, relaxing and being outside. She also is extremely talkative and has a crazy sense of humor. Claire loves going to church and using her voice for God’s glory. All in all, Claire is an average kid, but with a not so average voice.

Claire talks about using her voice for God’s glory, but in reality she is part of his glory. Claire is his creation, a creation put on this earth to shed light on those whose light has dimmed, to bring people closer together. No one can listen to Claire and not feel something inside. She holds part of God’s light inside her and every time she sings, she spreads a little of that light onto others.

What is entertainment? Entertainment is enjoying a performer, a performer who is engaging and can divert you away from where you are, and take you somewhere else.  An entertainer should capture a person and take that person to where they can feel happiness or sorrow or even a place of wonder. So what is entertainment? It is not a what, but a who, and he is Sheridan Archbold. Sheridan is entertainment.

Sheridan is a first class act that should have his name in lights on the Las Vegas strip, and maybe one day he just might. Sheridan is a singer, actor and comedian. At any of  his performances that you may attend, you truly never know what he might do. Sheridan has many costumes and depending on the what he wants to convey in his performance as to what he might wear. He could show up as Charlie Chaplin or possibly a rabbit. He may sing something classical or pop. Sheridan is an act that is truly entertainment.

In the beginning it was Sheridan’s brother Edgeorge, who inspired him to want to sing. Edgeorge had a Broadway type voice, and would sing everywhere, at home, the car and so on. Sheridan wanted to be just like him, and even wanted the same name. When Sheridan did begin to sing, he sang with his brother at a church they attended. They even went on to record a CD together. Sheridan was three years old and his brother four. However the CD was never released.

Sheridan Archbold at stars2come There’s been many places Sheridan has performed at but, one of his favorite places was at Madison Square Garden Theater. He performed there for America’s Got Talent. Sheridan put all he had into the performance and got a standing ovation from the judges and audience. Another memorable performance for Sheridan was performing the National Anthem, and other patriotic songs for the 4th of July, Pre Parade Program. He felt honored to share songs with the people, and show his love for this country.

When Sheridan performs his favorite artists to cover are, Luciano Pavarotti, Mariah Carey. He likes covering Luciano because of his great voice, personality and his closeness to classical crossover genre in his late career. Mariah, because she has a huge voice and fantastic stage presence.

When Sheridan goes out to perform, it does not matter what genre he chooses to sing. It is all about connecting with audience, for him. Before each performance he always asks himself three questions; How do I perform? What do I perform? and Why am I doing that? He wants to do his best on stage and have fun with the audience. He believes whatever the genre is he sings, if he sings it sincerely, with all his heart, then the audience believes and follows him.

Since his beginning, Sheridan has won many awards, been seen on television and heard on the radio. At the age of ten in 2011, he won the grand prize at a singing contest in Peoria, Illinois. The first song that was created by them is called, United We Stand Pray For America. This is a special song for his family, they are very patriotic and loves this country. They wanted their love of this country reflected in the song. Sheridan hopes to one day perform this song with a full orchestra and choir. Their newest song will be called, Save the Earth. This song will be dedicated to Greenpeace, because they feel people need to raise their voices about the pollution of the earth. The lyrics of this song will be by poetess, Demelia Denton. Sheridan has also written songs dedicated to Steve Jobs and Oprah Winfrey.

For those who wish to see one of Sheridan’s performances live, he has many coming this year to pick from. The demand for Sheridan is so huge, that it is not possible to list all of his upcoming shows here, but you can keep track of where he will be and when on his website  http://www.sheridan-archbold.com/ . However there is one that needs to be highlighted. Sheridan will be in Italy from August 3rd to August 18th. He was chosen to be the first thirteen year old boy to perform the role of Cherubino in opera, Le Nozze di Figaro. He says he feels very excited about this and looking forward to the trip. He is also looking forward to the release of his EP. This is a project that will display his singing along with a couple of surprises on it. He feels it will be well received.

His goal is to simply entertain people and make them happy. He wants to be an inspiration to those who have challenges like he does. Sheridan hopes to make a difference with his singing. If he can inspire someone to persevere and not give up no matter what the personal challenge may be. If he can do this then he has full filled his mission, because he knows first hand about challenges. Sheridan himself is challenged by dyslexia and he has struggled with it for many years, but he has never given up. Everyday he battles dyslexia, but he continues to master his craft no matter what the difficulties are. Although Sheridan has to deal with dyslexia, he has an excellent auditory memory which has helped him to learn lyrics in six different languages. His love for singing and opera has pushed him to overcome many challenges.

Despite Sheridan’s challenges he has risen up and became a first class entertainer. His entertainment skills are among the best, and his creativity will help him entertain and make people happy for many years. He has a gift, and he is not selfish with it. Sheridan is  setting out to make a difference in people’s lives. It is people like Sheridan that makes the world a better place. We can all be thankful to have him on the side of humanity.

Anastasia Lee

It is  an honor to have such a brilliant voice as Anastasia here at stars2come.  She sings with such grace and passion that she takes your breath away. Anastasia brings great beauty to the songs she sings, but her beauty with-in is just as great. Her biggest desire is to bring happiness to others trough her music, and to give hope to many people through her great love of charity.   She has given many hours to St. Vincent DePaul Society and Paul’s Food Pantry to help those in need. Anastasia loves participating in helping to raise awareness and funds for  charitable groups. Her favorite is St. Judes Children’s Hospital in Memphis Tenn. She also gives her time to The American Cancer Society and The American Heart Association. She is an amazing person to give so much, Anastasia truly has a heart as big, as her voice.

Anastasia is remarkable to say the least, with such a great talent for opera and Broadway, to be fully self taught. She has always loved music since a very early age, but she did not really get started into it until she was eight after confiscating her dad’s CD of Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli, singing, “Time To Say Goodbye”.  This got her started singing, and for her it was only for the fun it. Not long after this they got the movie, Phantom Of The Opera, and she feel in love with the movie, the costumes and the music. She would then sing at all fun family gatherings, and many times you would find her riding her bike singing songs from, The Phantom Of The Opera.

At age eleven she started taking her wonderful voice to the public at places like, Harmony Cafe, and Cup O’ Joy’s open mic night singing Broadway Classics, Opera, and Crossovers. Here recently she was a part of Parkview Middle School’s, “Big Bad Musical” performing as solo and duet. She also has a part in their next musical as Siren. On July 9th she had the pleasure of singing with Josh Groban, she selected the song, “To Where You Are”.  Anastasia has gotten some great opportunities to perform, it seems that everyone loves the beauty she brings to the music she sings. She performed twice for the UWGB Chancellors Scholarship Dinner, and then the UWGB Board of Regents. This past January she entered a talent contest called, Coulee Region’s Got Talent. This was a unique experience for her. At this contest she received a standing ovation from the crowd and the four judges, and with an almost perfect score was announced the winner. This was very exciting for her, this was her first contest.

Anastasia loves the voices of people like, Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban, and Julie Andrews to name a few. Even though they have incredible voices, what she likes most is the fact they make people happy even today. All these people are great inspirations for Anastasia, but her greatest comes from her family, and her best friend Lt. Col.  John H. Hug. They all inspire her to practice, work hard, and be more focused and to never give up on her dreams. Singing is a major part of her life, it allows her to just be herself, and express her feelings what ever they may be.

Her main goal in life is to make people happy. She loves to watch people smile, sing along, and even cry when she sings songs of the past. She says, it is a very special feeling, it is not about her, it is about the people’s thoughts, their feelings and embraces. Anastasia hopes to one day take her music and perform at Carnegie Hall and the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Another great dream of hers would be to play the part of Christine Daae in the, Phantom Of The Opera or be apart of, The Sound Of Music and Camelot, these would be an excellent addition to her life.

Anastasia is simply and outstanding performer, no matter if it is Opera or Broadway hits she is a delight to listen to. Anastasia not only brings more great music to all, but she adds beauty to the world around her. They joy she gives to the people watching her performances is priceless, and this is what all great artists strive for, the joy it brings to others. Beauty and joy is, Anastasia!

Jackie Evancho ” The 8TH Wonder “

Jackie Evancho at stars2come Jackie this amazing little girl is not only capturing the hearts of America , but the world!  and every time with a performance more spectacular than the last. This time singing ” Time to Say Goodbye ” a powerful and emotional song. One can only ask. How is this possible?  With a girl so small and only been singing for about two years can have so much power and precession to perform such songs.  The gift that Jackie posses has to be heaven-sent in order to have a voice at this age and the ability to make the listeners feel the joy and the emotions well-up inside and to never want it to end.  Howie is correct , there is no word that can truly describe Jackie , there is none , with enough meaning.

Her performance was a wondrous and beautiful thing , like watching a rose opening. You are waiting in, aw the pedals partially open , then moves a bit  with the breeze and ever so slightly it begins to open more taking your breath away , with each little bit. Then! a bright ray of sunshine hits the rose and bursts open with all the beauty one can imagine , with the dew glimmering around the edges. Jackie was just like this rose. At first just hearing a small bit of the beauty gradually opening a bit more ,  the excitement growing inside you. Then all of a sudden the heavens opened up with all its glory lighting the stage , her golden hair glistening in the light. Her voice burst forth and with the sound of a dozen angles behind her in song,   sending shimmer’s through your body. Jackie standing on a pedestal , her the lead angel ,and you marveling at the beauty and wondrous sound coming from this child. Now with the light upon her , she shines like the brightest star in the sky.

Jackie`s  journey now continues to bring us more beautiful music and wonder , and not just next week , for this is just the beginning of her journey.  People has always talked about the seven wonders of the world and their beauty , but there is no longer seven wonders , now there is eight.  Jackie from  Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , ten years old ,  last featured here in June   was in search of a dream. Now her dreams  are coming to life.   The interview that I had with Jackie in June ,  I learned that she was a shy but , wonderful person who loves to play with her ducks , but   once the mic is in front of her , she transforms  from a shy little girl who plays with ducks to a beautiful swan , with a voice of an angel  that can truly bring tears to your eyes.

Jackie took a chance like many others putting up a video on America`s Got Talent. She first moved to the top forty from the producers pick , then from there it was all up to the voters. After the voting was up she was not only in the top twelve but ,  the winner of the video voting , giving her , her first major TV performance. Many has known what Jackie can do and now she had the opportunity to show all of America. ” She said ” she was going to show that the best things come in small packages and she did just that. With a standing ovation from the audience and the judges , I  watched the gleam come across Jackie`s face and that was one of the best things I have ever seen , I don`t think I have ever been so happy for someone before. She is truly a special girl and I want to thank her and her parents for allowing me to get to know her . Mandel said , that they were hoping to find a gem and he is absolutely right , Jackie is a gem.  She is no longer a star to come she is , a star!

If there was anyone deserving to make it into the semi final it was Jackie , voted in Wednesday August 11 , 2010 . Now in the top twenty-four she will be competing for the top prize of one million dollars  and a head line  Las Vegas show. I know that Jackie will make a brilliant head liner and Jackie does have the talent to get there and her concert would be outstanding. Jackie Evancho

jackie evancho at stars2come I would like for you to meet Jackie Evancho ten years old and lives Pittsburgh ,Pennsylvania. You are   not going to find many people at Jackie`s age or even older that has the range as Jackie. The video above is a great example of her range,  singing ” Ave Maria ” ( Bach ) She did this classic brilliantly, it is so beautiful.

Jackie is!,  a true prodigy, she started with a 2.5 octave range and now with training it has brought her closer to 3 octaves , her range currently is F3 to E6 this is extraordinary for someone at age ten. I have listened time and again to her music , with complete amazement. She,_ was truly born for classical music.

Jackie says , she prefers pop ,  but  because her voice is more naturally classical in sound she dosen`t sing pop  because she dosen`t want it to effect her classical voice. Her goal is to have a solo singing career in classical crossover and she is well on her way. Jackie got her start in a local talent contest Kean Idol, ” she says ”  it was so much fun. There she was a finalist in 2008 and first runner-up in 2009 then went on to win first place in the 8 to 18 soloist category , USA World Showcasein Las Vegas 2009 she says , this was her first  ” rush ” feeling from being on a big stage. Also in 2009 she was a semi finalist in David Foster`s Hitman talent search and performed live on the David Foster and Friends concert tour. She has earned several awards in 2008 and 2009 won the Audience Choice Award at the Kean Idol talent contest, in April 2009 she won the Golden Ribby – Wonderworld TV in Massachusetts and ten more in July and August. A couple of her performances I would like to point out are , July 9 , 2009 on TV at the Nashville Palace with song writer James Breedwell , October 9 , 2009 on PBS solo for WQED with conductor/songwriter Tim Janis titled Celebrate America this was broadcast locally then national. All this as impressive as it is , is only a small portion of her awards and performances. One of the performances coming up would be a great honor for anyone. On December 2 , 2010 she will be performing with Tim Janis at Carnegie Hall and not just  anyone gets to perform here.

jackie evancho at stars2come

Jackie is gifted  with a high range, but in the video ( above ) She is singing ” Lean On Me ” using her low range for a special project  and because she has  a wide range she did this song with perfection. As you can see not even a challenge when she had to switch up , she could do it with ease. All the songs she performs is done with outstanding precision and perfection. The control she has with her voice is impeccable. The training she  had enables her to do so much and here is her training resume : Acting, Singing, Dance – Pittsburgh Musical Theater
Children’s Festival Chorus – Christine Jordanoff In Residence at The Duquesne University School of Music
Children’s Festival Chorus troubadour – Lisa Jaworowski In Residence at The Duquesne University School of Music
Vocal Coaching — Paula Signor-Richter University Music Education Graduate and Matthew Evancho, Masters CMU in music education
Cover EP — private, Audible Images, Pittsburgh, PA Release Date 11/09.

Jackie is a true artist in every sense of the word. Not only can she sing,  she has such grace and beauty , combined it is pure elegance. I know you will enjoy listening to her as much as I. Jackie has a CD available entitled ” Prelude To A Dream ”  which you can purchase through her web site , Jackie Evancho . She is also currently seeking funding for her next CD . Jackie`s first was amazing  I know that her next will be even more spectacular , there will be a live orchestra backing her. It is hard to believe this powerful voice is coming from a sweet little ten-year old , whom you can find frequently playing with her ducks.   For more about Jackie…      ( Sorry CDS are sold out )
